Each week I get a ton of mailing list emails and a load of github emails related to issues and discussions going in the W3C Web Standards Cauldron of words (AKA Web Accessibility Initiative). A few bubble up and pique my interest:
I have only looked at one source so far, but can highly recommend Hidde De Vries overview of his TPAC 2025 experience: Reflections from TPAC 2025.

And yes there is talk of a WCAG 2x update and i finally got some sense of how Conformance could work in WCAG 3. If you want to get into the weeds, there is a WIP slide deck Proposed Conformance Model on which WCAG 2.next has a slide.
